Bird University Program
How does this work?
​
1. Look at the list of BU Professional Development options.
2. Choose which professional development options you would like to participate in over the course of the year.
3. Participate in those professional development options by coordinating with Admin, STAT, and/or grade level team.
4. After you participate in the professional development of your choice, complete the reflection associated with it.

How many points do I need?
​
10 BU Credits are highly reccommended by the end of the school year OR
15 BU Credits to qualify for 1 MSDE/CPD credit towards your teaching certification.

Who keeps track of my points?
​
Your STAT teacher will keep track of your points. You should keep track of them as well. It is also good practice to keep a list of your professional development for the year so that you may choose to add it to your end of year evaluation.
​
If you earn 15 BU Credits, your STAT teacher will help you to submit the paperwork to get your 1 MSDE/CPD credit toward your certification.

​
You will grow professionally. You will benefit your teaching and learning, the learning of your students, and the overall learning at Joppa View. You will have a lot to brag about.
